Workers Compensation Reduced Gross Wages Calculation Explained

The definition of “Reduced Wages” is overtime calculated at a straight time rate for Work Comp purposes.

Example:

Percent of Gross Wages

            40 hrs x 10 (Regular rate) = 400.00

              5 hrs x 15 (Overtime rate) = 75.00

                                     Total            475.00

Percent of Reduced Gross Wages

            40 hrs x 10 (Regular rate) = 400.00

              5 hrs x 10 (Reduced rate) = 50.00

                                    Total            450.00

The setting in the master record is set for Percent of Reduced Gross Wages, but BIS is calculating at the regular overtime rate.
